Jesus, the Lamb of God

As the holiest week of the Church Year draws closer, we remember the March gatherings of Generations of Faith.  Sacrifice was a key word of the weekend.  We heard stories of great sacrifices made by people we never met and stories of people we know well, were told as well.  

The greatest sacrifice made once and for all is the sacrifice of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  It is this sacrifice that is represented at every Mass.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that, “The only perfect sacrifice is the one that Christ offered on the cross as a total offering to the Father’s love and for our salvation.  By uniting ourselves with his sacrifice we can make our lives a sacrifice to God.”
